basically a strut brace (upper) connects the two suspension struts and the idea is that it reduces chassis flex when cornering.

they stop chassis flex under cornering load and keep suspension geometry at it's optimum. you get upper and lower braces at the front, you can fit a rear one on car which have rear struts, but not on the sax as it has a torsion bar set-up.
front upper fits under the bonnet between the strut tops, lower on fits between the wishbones. you'll feel the benefit more from a lower one. upper one costs between £40-£80, lower one £25-ish.
