The C2 head has bigger valves, and a better oil seal.

Anyone who fits a C2 head but leaves oem cams in needs a punch though.

whilst were on the subject. I heard that there isn't enough clearance on the C2 head for the VTS/GTI pistons - true or false?

I thought cams changed the opening and closing timing of the valves, not how much they opened by?

I need a punch :boxing:

However i do have a c30/84 as well as forged rods and forged pistons. And i'm aiming for peak power lower in the rev range with the standard cams, than higher up with Saxo ones.

More widespread torque and a nicer car to drive IMO.

Quite true, modified cams keep the valves open longer, but if they are open too long and there isnt enough clearnece then the piston is going to colide with the vavles due to them being open for too long, you cant open a vavle any more than max, its the cam lobes what are longer to keep them open longer.

aftermarket cams also open the valves more.
standard vts cams have 8.49mm lift, and for example, the 708s have 10.00mm lift.
i think the duration of standards are circa 245 degress and 708s are 258 degrees.
so aftermarket cams open the valves more and for a longer time (duration).
