What would the best exhaust system be for a 1.1. I want it more for sound rather than performance obviously.

But I don't want some mahoosive thing on the back of my car. Would rather something that is relatively quiet but just has a nice purr and maybe a bit more noise when I put my foot down? Ideally wouldn't want to spend over £300...

Nice. Would all of the ones in that link above fit?

And also, could I just take it to my local tyre + exhaust place to get fitted?

tell u what though the sound is sexual for a universal one, it has a nice deep burble in idle and when i shoots off umm not to bad i may say.

The SS is nice and quite at idling and good when you floor it, its up to you on exhaust choice. :)
