Lambda, Cat. Can be alot of things, exhaust could be blowing.

Ask them at the MOT ceneter they can tell you what its likley to be from the figures on the emmisions reading.

have you gone from a 3 plug engine to a single plug engine

3 plug to a single plug, all the sensors are fine, new exhaust system and cat fitted as well. The engine runs really well, good acceleration and no knocks just the emissions where too high?

meant "3 plug to single?" kept all the wiring etc from the mk2 just replaced the engine, injection system and driveshafts with MK1

you say you have just swapped the engine, was the engine out of a used car or was it from a breakers yard etc? The reason i ask is that if an engine has been standing then this could cause the emissions to be higher, how many miles has it done since been fitted?

give it a good hard drive before you have it retested and get the lambda sleaved

thrash it then take it back. if that fails use a 20pund note on the MOT-er

What year is the motor, and what year is the car?
Emsions become tighter the newer the car, so if the motor is 1999 and the car is 2003 (for example) you're going to have problems

The CO2 reading where no high wasnt given the exact reading, i did all the pre-MOT tricks on sensors and stuff but still failed. Also when its sat at idle its revs at 800rpm but after accelerating only returns to 1400rpm??
