I know this has probably been asked a lot but searching hasn't really found me anything.
How much work is involved in doing a 1.1 to vts conversion? I'm thinking about doing it over the summer although I have no mechanical knowledge so would have to pay someone to do it. Would it require loads of work?
I've been spending quite a bit on the looks of my car lately and I don't really want to just sell it for a VTS. How much money would I be looking at roughly?

I havent done it, but would guess you would need a good £1.5k..?
If paying someone else to do it - you'll need brakes, suspension before you move onto the engine conversion....

Out of interest how old are you mate and what's the insurance like on the S?

The engine mount needs to be welded in from a vtr/s.
I'd recommend it going from furio/vtr to a 16v but there's a lot more work to go from a 1.1 - I admit defeat and have to recommend just getting a Vts!

Yeah that's cool mate.
I need to find out what insurance is going to rape me with. I'll be 18 when/if I get one, won't have ncb as I haven't been driving year but will have had no claims *touch wood*. If insurance is way too much I'll settle for a vtr.

Fully comp on a saxo is pointless matey surely, theyre worth fuck all?
Im converting mine to an S in the next few months, it costs 950 TPFT with a full exhuast system including mani, stripped, buckets, uprated brakes, etc etc with a 140bhp limit for now with Brentacre. 19, 1 NCB but a crash on my licence

Insurance at 19 with 1 years NCB and a crash will be cheaper than 18 with no NCB but also no crashes right?

Yeah as soon as you hit 19 I've found the prices drop massively, almost as much as the 1 year NCB does.

Paying the extra 200 is worth getting like 1800 back off the insurance if you crash!!
