Im thinking of getting a oil cooler for my vtr which will be getting vts'd. Are these ok for lower spec engines or are they aimed at higher specs? I think they look good behind the bumper with the addition to performance purposes too.

If you plan on doing the 'S' conversion and modding your car then yes could be worthwhile

Yes but get a thermostatic sandwich plate. So many people dont and overcooling the oil is just as bad as letting it overheat. Id also get a pressure gauge and temp gauge fitted at the same time unless your changing the clocks from the S into the R. Then you'll only need pressure gauge. Dead easy to fit with the right sandwich plate.
GMCMotorsport sell the full kit for £120 exc Vat. But you'd have to ring them to get a plate with Sender adapters (NPT thread iirc) , if they do one at all.

Well have been thinking if got a s engine would like the clocks same as engine for milage reasons. And have been wanting to get a pillar guage pod with guages too. I would like to get the s engine cam'd too. How hard/easy are they to fit?

No point in a roadcar imo. The oil will be cooled more than enough.
You mainly need an oil cooler for things like trackdays or motorsport where the engine is holding at higher revs for longer periods of time Your money could be much better spent elsewhere.

As this guy says make sure it is a thermostatic contolled one else the oil would possibly over cool and hurt your engine

Agree with Rushy on this one, looked into these quite throughly and theyre pointless for road cars

K, may not bother with one then although they do look good. I was wanting to turn mine into a track/weekend car but have got nowhere to store it while doing the work atm so is currently going to have to stay as my daily.
