Hi everyone. just joined the site.
can anyone help me with the following question.
i have a 97 vtr and was wondering what the difference is between the mk1 vtr and mk2 vtr to make the 8bhp increase to the mk2. i rang citroen and all they said was that its to do with polution.
can anybody further their answer and tell me what i can do to my engine to make the engine the same as the mk2?
cheers

iv never heard of it being proved either but i dont see why anyone would make it up? and if it is to do with polution like they said at citroen do ya recon its probably something to do with the exhaust system for example the cat, manifold or even the route of the pipe is different?
cheers

modifications to head and revised cam/ecu, they had to up the bhp to get back the losses from the new L2 emissions.

Probs not but there isnt that much difference mate. A few mods like full system with decat and enclosed filter will give you an increase.

i no. iv got those mods already and have noticed the bhp increase but was just wondering why there was the increse between the two models. also does anyone know how much it costs to get yer ports polished and what kind of increase you get from that?

depends who does it but £300 upwards, a good port and polish can be £600-1200

by itself not much, with other mods ie cams, throttle bodies then upto 20bhp.
