Been to brunters in the vts last week, and had go for a top run car just creeped over the 125mph on the speedo, and was sat at about 6k on the revs, was bit dissapointed as had my 106 gti round to 135mph on the clocks any my ax vts of the clock, there was no timing equipment there as was with a mate for a photoshoot so was just dicking about, just wondering what the true speed i was doing would be and does that seem normal or ok for a bog standard vts 53 plate

I think a VTS should do more than that tbh?
Cause i know the clocks are out but ive had my VTR to 130 on the clock, Now i know it wouldnt have been doing that so im not sure.
But i would have thought your vts should have done more.

Its a carcking track well ex air strip. most forums and clubs go there annually
Only thing is if you go on with a few cars make sure your not the slowest theres LOTS and LOTS of stones.
Evil track for paint work :(

brunters is crap.
the surface is very abrasive, and shreds tyres because of the type of material, its not actually very grippy in relation to the damage it does.
the track layours are via cones and are pap.

An rx8 in 190 form alone would blow a 1.4 75hp saxo out of the water matey have you ever considered these cars arnt trying to be traffic light hammiltons like you ?

well you obviously do or you wouldnt say it
Thats very good, i might look into it.
If i was you id save my money and go for an open pit lane track day best thing ive ever done this is where you find out how well your car actualy handles, brakes etc none of this i can go 50 round a roundabout, plus if you come off your in a controled enviroment and to be pretty honest with you brunters is crap its just one long as straight and a few cones for corners

Ive seen some bullshit on this site, but that certainly takes the crown.
You are quite clearly a plonker!

Ive had mine off the clock at 140mph. Didnt check the revs as i was running out of runway but i wish i had a satnav then.
At 70mph on a satnav my cars doing 73-74 on the speedo so its not as far off as most but double that and thats nearly 10mph so may have only been hovering around 130mph. Although the pull it has from going into 5th around 120 is suprising to me, to say its not got that much BHP.

The higher the speed the more the speedo is thrown out, not saying a spec'd up vts with some serious hp cant hit 140 but in a previous car i had.
I had 77 on the road angel with 80 on clocks then i had 130 flat out on the speedo with 115 on the road angel:oops:.
How it threw it out that much ill never know but that relly did shock me.

Thats interesting, if the speedo is cable driven then maybe the twisting force at that speed just makes it bend more to throw it off more.
I know my car feels like its being crushed by wind when it gets towards those speeds!
