Thinking about the 1.4 conversion in my 1.1 I wouldn't neeed to strengthen anything would I?

Also If the 1.4 is power steering would I need the steering rack and motor?

Anyone think it's worthit?

Thanks

Hmm could be worth it matey, but imo if your gonna do an engine conversion you may aswell put in a silvertop vtr or vts in if possible!

it could be a plan if you get the right 1.4
there was a 106 called the xsi it was a 1.4 and made 95hp standard
so its vtr pace also if possible get the gearbox off it too (there very sought after though) as its (and i quote AlexR on this) "the best box in the ma range"
1.4 insureance and tax
but will outrun most stuff you come across

Ok cheers Alex-VTS ill have a look around for it, Would I need to replace driveshafts? And with the ECU Do you know if the 106Xsi has an immobiliser? Thanks

the shafts would be adviseable the xsi runs the same setup as the vtr/s and has the intermideate bearings
they are immobilisd yes but they are easy to disable (same as a saxo)

also a little bit you said about power steering
no you wont need pas if its from a pas car as its nothing to do with the motor on the saxos

the xsi's engines are still slower and rarer to find than the silver top vtr engines and also its alot easier to make the vtr engine alot quicker than it would be a xsi engine..

imo ur best off gettin a silver top vtr engine or a vts lump and maybe have a 1.4 gearbox..
