Yeah you should leave it on, I have ordered a De-Cat pipe of ebay to put on to my car

definatly keep the de-cat i noticed a lot of difference with mine. there is a lot less engine braking, a more crisp note sounds awsome at about 5200 revs onwards make you shiver man and also it puts about 4-5 bhp on your car well on a mk1 anyway not to sure about mk2. as they have a different kind of exhaust system which is the main reason for the difference in bhp between the two models

not strictly true but never mind smileys/smiley2.gif
you'll be lucky to see 2-3bhp from a de-cat, most noticeable things will be a very slight increase in responsiveness and a slight change in exhaust note. it's a bit of a pain in the arse changing it every MOT time but if you don't mind that then go for it.

it made mina a bit louder and a bit more responsive and pulled a bit better but my cat was part of the manifold so the manifold might make it pull better

It was citroen that told me this!
they said that the difference is mainly in the exhaust system and construction of the cats on the newer models that made less pollution and better flow also the positioning of the cat being on the manifold changed the vibrations sent back and forth through the pipes creating again a better flow.
in theory this should mean that an identical full straight through system on both models with both having say a 4-2-1 manifold would even out the power!

not yet got round to the MOT but its onlt a jack up and 4 bolts. 2 on the manifold and 2 on the centre section!

if you can be bothered to change it everytime for an mot and your after a few bhp if your lucky, slight increase in loudness and responsive then go for it.however if your really unlucky you may get pulled over for an emissions test and then your fucked 2bh.however i dont know anyone who has been pulled over for one

theres usually a few on ebay.
you can pick up a deacent brand new 4-2-1 manifold for about 150 including p&p
milltek manifolds are a very good manifold to get but the sportex manifolds have the same configuration and i think would be equally as good

If your going to get a manifold you might as well get a decent one have a look here (http://www.gmcmotorsport.co.uk/). They come highly reccommended from gmc. If not one of those try a supersprint one. smileys/smiley2.gif
