Right i have done my VTS conversion and got wired up today. I have had a problem knowing whether i have unlocked ecu or not, but basically the car is now getting fuel, but doesnt seem to be firing!! Could this mean the ecu isnt unlocked?? Or any other common faults that means it wouldnt fire??

Any help would be appreiceated!!

if it was locked the fuel pump would not prime and you wouldnt get any fuel. also the immobilisor light would flash.
my money is on the earth that most people miss behind the battery.

if you're getting fuel, the engine has compression and there is sparking at the correct time, then it should run.

The immob cuts the spark so that would explain it...

The fuel pump runs directly off the relay that runs directly off a switched ignition feed y0

if you have it connected it will prob be a shit connection. so remove it, scratch some paint off where it attachs then re-attach it.

fuel pumps have never primed when i have fitted an unlocked ecu, never geting any fuel, just cranks over and doesnt start.

The bolt itself should provide a decent earth, but that's worth a try.

ive found it hasnt made a good enough contact on a couple of occasions. just use a flat screw driver and some sand paper to make a better contact.

you can do away with the canister in your wheel arch. i have done with no problems. its only to help emissions.

i didnt tbh, i just pulled the whole thing out the wing. and left the bits open, but then again i havent run the car much recently. i would suggest its probably a good idea to black up the inlet holes

The purge valve is the only outlet for fuel vapour & air pressure from the tank...

so not a good idea to take it off then??

If you do be aware that fuel vapour(the most flamable part of petrol) will be coming out of it. And if shit gets in the end of the pipe and blocks it or goes down the pipe, you'll have no breather on the tank!
