only differences are. filter, material, name and price.
put a green filter inside like i have done and its much better. dosent matter to me if its made of carbon fibre or not people arent looking at it when im driving its under the bonnet.
id just like to mention that the roar mine made when i dint have cold air feed was immense

what about the raceland jobby
Im not a fan of the raceland tbh I cant see how getting air through that tiny hole in the slam panel makes any difference tbh. The one at the top of the page is probably better and its a hell of alot cheaper imo

Looks spot on tbh, as a few people have said whack a better filter in there and it'll be just as good as a BMC tbh, but at least half the price.

Does anyone have a pic or link of what filter would go in this? because obviously it wouldnt have a closed end on the filter would it? like the replacement element for the raceland or simota?

The only way of finding out is by doing dyno test against a true BMC. While I doubt there prob is much between them there also has to be some benefits over cheap filters or why would folk pay the extra money?
Be intresting to find out though.

They pay the extra for the name, and the advertisements saying things about gains. And they are better quality.

Yea maybe, pretty sure the guys I know with half decent filters didnt paid for the name i certainly didnt. I bought it because it gave the best results i saw with my own eyes. Also where is the logic in spending money on mani, ecu or cams etc then to have a budget filter? Id just be sceptical about it.

Yeah i know well if i was anyone who bought one id chuck everything apart from the "carbon" housing and buy silicone piping instead its all still going to work out cheaper than a raceland/simota or bmc

You say you saw it with your own eyes what did you see? dyno graphs?. If someone used the standard filter that came with it that would just be silly but just for the housing it would be ok even if it is £40 for abit of plastic
I have a friend that works at halfords so im going to see if he can get one on loan or something ;) to try it out

When having a new airfilter fitted to my old Mondeo ST24 i tried K+N panal filter, some other cant remember and the BMC. BMC gave the strongest results.

not cheaper than a raceland though
£45 in halfrauds with a shitty baco foil intake
plus costs of getting there and getting a half decent set of hoses
raceland from Mr_Willy is £49 delivered
speaks for its self really

Why are Green filters shite?
Theres no point putting the biggest filter you can fit unless you got a really tuned engine.

Why?.....
Because heavily tuned engines will need a bigger air filter to draw more air than a non tuned engine.
Still haven't said why Green filters are shite...

I didnt say green where, the standard ones that come wit the racelands of Mr Willy on here arnt green, there just no name.
And it doesnt matter the size of the filter, the engine is still going to draw the same ammount of air in.

You said "Agreen standard filters are shite." so wasn't very clear to understand.
Why would it say "The larger Green filter replaces the standard Simota filter to allow more airflow for heavily tuned engines" on Kam's website about the replacement airfilter.

They're the same filters that come with the Racelands so doesn't make a difference.

Have you actually seen the size difference between the standard raceland/simota air filter and the green one? there is minimal size differences its all about the filterisation of said filter. I do believe that kev (kamracing) made the decision to add the green filter because of the poor quality that the raceland/simota comes with. Plus it looks gay with the chrome bit on the end :P
