icv stepper motor

having slight problems with the idle on the vts at the minute...

only rarely does the rev needle dance about/drop away and its only stalled on me once, but the idle is very lumpy (can be felt through the car). i changed the valve with the one on my knackered vts lump but it hasnt made any difference.

so either theyre both worn/causing the same problem or its something else. any ideas? also should the nipple of the valve be clean or black (grease)? i noticed both the valves were black with grease(?) when i changed them over so didnt want to clean them.

Might have to try a new one, I tried a couple used ones and still had same problem till i got a new one.

did you grease the new one when you changed it i take it?

May not be the ICV bud. could be fuel filter, MAP sensor, ECU temp sensor to name a few
