ok here we go.!!

living in dublin, saxo mod places are hard to find.
found a place that can add a superchip to my westcoast, for about £230!!
will add about 5bhp.
gonna order stuff in from kamracing such as 4-2-1 manifold and new cams,
heres my set up

http://i578.photobucket.com/albums/ss226/john_lambert2009/DSC00330-1.jpg

what are the best kams to get??
http://www.kamracing.co.uk/manufacturers-543/catcams-676/catcams-camshafts-659/catcams-4901133-fast-road-camshaft-saxo-vtr-furio-black-top-1122.html

for furio black top?

in relation to adding to engine, which is the best process to make the performance its best,eg add manifold 1st then new cams and finally superchip??
or anything diff?

thanks

Chipping is wrong, you want a remap though

johnlambert

i kinda guessed!!
whats the diff with chipping??

JamesR
16th April 2009, 12:07
As above get a remap, and gains wise i would either go for thr fast road can, or the newman PH3 :y:

Anywhere over there that does Remaps? ( NOT CHIPS )

A remap is live, and will take into consideration all the modifications you have. A chip in most cases is just the same for most cars.

If you cant find a place that does remaps, then you would have to go with a less wild cam, that doesnt need one, like a PH1 or maybe the PH2 but the 2 would be a little lumpy without a map.

Jorge-
16th April 2009, 12:13
Depends how good the remap is, what is it a VTR, S or Westie?

its a westcoast,1,4

JamesR

The car idle will feel a bit bumpy and juddery without a map on a PH2, only slightly i would think, but the PH3 would be pretty bad on idle without a map.

Thing is people fall for it and do buy it, you just need to look at ebay chips or ebay superchargers to see how many foolish people there are out there.

Look somewhere else

there are very few places that can remap the original ecu..chipwizards is the only one i know of.
most places can re-map an aftermarket ecu.
i feel your getting a lil confussed about remapping.

good luck in finding a decent one.
only place i ever heard mentioned that could do even a half decent job has been wayne !
chances of finding someone in north/south ireland are ????
or you talking diesel remaps ? not quite the samething for saxos !

Dont know about ireland but over here there are a lot of places that do remaps, wayne is one of the best imo but there are other places that can do good jobs.

i very much doubt you will get anyone over here to remap a standard saxo ecu.
first off you will need to get an after market ecu costing £500-£700.
then you can take it to get mapped/re-mapped costing £250-£500.

i live in northern ireland.do you ?
i have been looking to get my car mapped/remapped for 2 years now.
i have expressed an opinion, you shoot me down !
i never said the standard ecu couldnt be mapped.i did say only a limited number of companys could map the standard ecu to give decent results.
i wont respond to your name calling !

LeeM
16th April 2009, 17:37
if someone can remap an aftermarket ecu they can do a standard one its practically the same thing. all tey do is adjust fueling and valve timing and shit

dinga
16th April 2009, 17:38
a little knowledge is a dangerous thing !

JamesR
16th April 2009, 17:39
lol you will get the same results no matter what ECU it is.

So what makes an aftermaket ECU soooo much better than standard then?

I get the impression that a saxo can be re-mapped with std ecu, but this is also the exception to the rule - most std ecu's are pre-programmed and will not change their settings. This is why "piggyback" chips were invented (to con the std ecu)

dinga
16th April 2009, 20:10
to a certain extent yes.
you have to buy the piggyback.or stand alone ecu.
then you have to re-map the piggyback,or stand alone ecu.not the standard ecu.
wayne at chipwizards can re-map the standard ecu with no piggyback.a few others too,but with mixed results.
