hey everyone.
im thinking of camming my rallye.
i was wondering do you have to get your car re-mapped?
i know it would be best to do so but funding is low at the mo.
as i was thinking of getting like a fast road cam put in there and leave the mapping standard.
would this leave to any troubles?

a nice lumpy idle and maybe a bit of cutting out here and then.
also it wont be running at its full potential unmapped.

u can leave it unmapped but itll run crap until its mapped and idle will probally be rough too..

yeah i dont really wanna do that, as i wanna keep the orignal engine as theres only 68k on it and there more torque with 8v.
That be the next buy rallye 16v ;)

when my mate bought a gti that was faster that the 8v lol.
only advantage of the rallye was that it was lighter but kept up with him only difference is top end the gti had more pull.

16v has a lot more pull all the way through imo
you can get a lot more out of a 16v engine once cammed and remapped etc
with an 8v engine you wont get much more (if anything) than a standard 16v after adding camps and a remap

yeah i know the 16v are more tuneable like my mates(VTSTomE) cammed and remapped vts is running at 156bhp now :)
