just drove back from my morning job and the engine management light came on.
had new injectors last year and no sign of misfire yet, and no reving on its own.
it still drives fine so anyone got any ideas what it could be, thanks

You need to get the diagnositcs read. Its like a needle in a haystack.

Diagnostic checks are free.

Depends if its a problem which will stick your car into the 'limp home' mode like mine did. Then its not okay to drive.

They are where I took my car, they just read it and said if you want the work its X amount, if not come collect it.

If it runs fine (watch the mpg for the next few hundred miles), then it'll be the ECU thinking a 2nd lambda or a Cat fault has occurred.
£25 sounds about right to be honest (infact a pretty good tbh)

My engine management light was always flicking on and of and then staying on for abit or even afew days ... in the end i got a diagnostic test and it said that injectors 2 and 4 were down ... but the car was running perfectly fine ... the guy at the garage told me the coil packs on saxos are a common problem and can send incorrect signals to the ECU if they are faulty and he recomended i changed that first

so i changed that and :y: was all fine and fixed :D

Diagnostic checks are free.Where? The garage I took mine to charged me £20 (usually £25 but I always use them).

Almost the same as what you are paying for them to be read for you.
