View Full Version : Company to dial in cams?

Ok here's the scenario. Dropped a Kent PT40 into my 2002 VTR - it was timed to the lift at TDC that Kent suggest, as well as the tappets adjusted to their figures.

However, the car only made 101bhp on the rollers today... would most likely have made more on the standard cam! I know for a fact that power in the high 110's is achievable with this cam running on the standard map. Can anyone recommend somewhere (preferably in the North of England) that would dial the cam in on a RR?

Thought about Motorscope in Northallerton but have heard mixed reports about them.

Cheers

Thought about going for a remap with wayne but I'd rather sell the car for something faster than fork out that much.

Really puzzling result like... sick of throwing money at it now haha.

nothing wrong with motorscope imo, had my cams done there a couple year ago.

could also be that you've got standard intake with all the piping and shit still on.

id change to a wilder cam if its going to be mapped.

Does anyone know if the 90 and 98bhp VTRs use a different cam? The PT40 was originally for use with the 90bhp silvertop, so maybe the timing figures Kent provide need tweaked for the later engine?

Might have to pop down Motorscope sometime, I only hope at £70 an hour they can get the power to where it should be!

£70 an hour?

it cost £90 for them to do the timing on mine, think it took about 1.5 hours.

That sounds pretty reasonable like. Suppose they're only adjusting one pulley with mine too. :)

How many runs did they do in total?

Will get my car patched up in June and then take a trip down there.

Here's the graph for anyone that cares:
