could a faulty map sensor or a map sensor giving the wrong reading cause a dodgey idle?

yes iirc it will cause your lambda to give a false readin causin it to over fuel

the propblem im having is a 1500 idle

take it out and clean it :)

as far as I'm aware the ECU's rarely read off the Lambda at idle dude :)

ive not checked anything, the icv is only a few weeks old.
replaced lambda.
the only thing left is map sensor and tps sensor.
