newman cams changed supplier to the same company that supply the standard followers in the vts engine now, i posted a thread about this, as ken newman wanted to get out that they have done this, as they did not want that going against his company name, so as off now the followers from newman cams should are oem parts.

As above, Newmans told Kev who is doing the deal for us that they have recently changed suppliers when he asked about the followers

yep Just rang Dave Newman... 100% using OEM followers so they should be good. He was very apologetic about the whole thing.

you got hold of dave newman? lol ken the normal one you speak too, yer he told me to let the forum know that they had changed supplier (which i posted a thread dont know if anyone read it tho) because of what happened with manc vts followers, they are the same followers as citreon use themself now so should be good. and cheaper than citreon :D

You don't need new lifters when fitting cams. Tis buffalo feces!

You're more likely to have a lifter fail fitting new ones than leaving the old ones ;)

adsayer I'm pretty sure you asked this question on Jorge's groupbuy thread, here's the link (http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3204459&postcount=147) with my reply, it pretty much sums up this question also.

I was under the impression that if you change one (i.e. cams) then you should change the other touching part (follower) as the new cams will wear quicker if used with old followers?

Not 100% how true the above is, but i fitted new followers with new cams just to be sure. Mine were on around 80k.

yer they both wear as it metal on metal, so both will have wear, so if your changing your camshafts, best to do followers just for peace of mind if anything,

i am changing my followers and my engine is on 71k, but mine are getitng alittle noise

cost...... A LOT.
i think solids are about £380 or there abouts. solid lifters are used with high lift/long duration cams because of the forces the hydrolics will just fail.

yer not point really going for solid lifters just for PH3 as they cost alot more, and really would not really denefit from them on PH3 cams.
