Today i was going to adjust my tappets on my vtr. So i undo the two bolts but the second one pritty much just falls off as soon as make contact with the socket. It looks like some one has tightend the bolt up far to tight and its twisted off:n:

basically what do i have to do to get it out?

Save starting another thread, i have a reasonable amount of the mayo substance when i unscrewed the oil cap, i no it could be the head gasket or it could be condensation but am not sure what 1 it is. My car has been sitting around in the drive way for a while and there isnt a substantial amount of oil on the ground and the only oil leak i can see is the seal inbetween the cam cover and the cylinder head.

once my car is getting used regularly will the mayo substance disappear if it is condensation?

cheers in advance and sorry about the essay:y:

Yeah you adjust them on the 8v engines manually, exhaust valves are 0.4mm
and inlet valves are 0.2mm (could be other way round)

by the way if one of the moderators feels it should be moved to problems and querries then please do so:y:

8V engine + short trips = Mayo + long run = works fine .
Avoid garages they wankers and will make you get HG repair,if in any doubt buy a compression tester from Halfords

cheers mate il see about getting one of the compression testers to make sure.:y: i rekon the oil leak is from the cam cover seal so il buy one of them to sort that out and give the car a good run and see what the result is:P
