140 at the wheels is probably doable with the right cam choice

I thought he said on 106oc that it made 140 atf?

Never the less, it doesnt really matter, its how it drives that counts.

aint there some one on here thats at 160ish on standard inlet, think 167 is doable with a good map and healthy engine. Also depends on the rollers

167bhp is doable with a healty engine, well chosen cams and a good map. wouldnt expect any higher than that though!

Plus 167bhp on one set of rollers may well be completly different on another set of rollers.

ive never seen a 167 bhp 16v with those mods ever. out of everyone i no with a cammed 16v (a good 10-15 people) the highest ive ever seen is 161@ fly and 162@fly mapped

also if its 167 on one set of rollers and 153 on another set of rollers then is that not telling that the rollers read high? then we end up back onto the never ending rolling road accuracy debate.

i think with those mods 167 is a tad high

i know someone with standad inlet that has 165'ish bhp, thats with extensive headwork, wild cams and proper breathing mods, forged rods, forged pistons etc... but thats an extreme case.

no way on earth does he have 140bhp@wheels,,, with just cam, boddies, and breathing mods hes gained 70bp??
if thats right then he's almost got as much as ryans properly built engine..

ye exactly, forged internals... plus its a road rally car so doesnt see much everyday driving wich is a good job as it hardly idles.

Dodgy rollers, most cammed 16vs are 150-155bhp. The reason for the power limitation is the cam choice and OE inlet and OE pistons. Which is why wild cams people run throttle bodies and forged or at least modified pistons

haha yer right i struggle to believe that much power is made from those mods. maybe they were home made rollers??? oil drums and elasticbands which wind up, then some clever maths is used to work out bhp??

ive seen a cammed 16v run 166bhp. Mine ran 161bhp and 160 on 2 diffrent rollers. Dont belive all this shit about rollers being high just people who like to moan ;)

what are your wheel figures? as those are the important ones. flywheel figures are effectivly guesses so you cant blame people when they do moan.:P

As said any fly figure is allways taken with a pinch of salt as the fly is a calculation of average losses in most cases added onto the wheel figures, so very very easy to get 'high' figures
