Do you mean a set of ITBs? or a single throttle body? If the ITBs then you cant just bolt them on as its a different port spacing.

Just the standard body of a 1.6 16v, i was told i will make a diff, but who ever listens to the hf pissed guy from dwn the pub, who is always there b4 u and still there when you go home!

but do they fit? or does a VTR body fit a 1.4? The TB of a 1.4 is plastic and very restrictive so a VTR TB should be better because it's less restrictive?

IIRC the VTR T.B. does, but don't quote me on that.

You could always get the entire VTR Inlet, or better a S1 106 Rallye Inlet, but I doubt the gains you'll see will ever make it worthwhile tbh.

Have a look at this thread, is this what your talking about doing?

No I have a saxo 1.4 VTS with a TU3JP engine(gues it's a silvertop) and was thinking about polishing & porting the TB after reading some threads about it. When i wanted to take the TB off i could see it wasnt a metal one like the 1.6 vts/vtr has but it had a plastic one with a inlet whit a smaller diameter. So my gues is whit a bigger diameter(from a VTR TB) at the inlet the engine can breath more freely and will run better. Got all the other bhreater mods so why wouldt this one help? My question now is: has anyone done this before & what are the gains & instalation porblems?

Oh I see. Sure It's been done, but can't help you mate sorry. I imagine they'll be different diameter though.

ive put a clio 172 TB on a vts, probably the same principal.

was it easy to fit or did you have to do a lot of adjustements? And what was the car response after installation? Any gain?

i had to do a fair bit machining so the average person wont be able to do it.
had to make adapter for TB to manifold, TPS adapter, fitting for inlet temp sensor.
not just a case of bolting it on.

Thanks but looking for a simpler solution as I am lazy ;) Found this http://www.106owners.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1142 so a VTR TB is possible, going to the scrapheap this friday hopefully i'm going to find one.

did you get good gains?

I would have thought the S1 rally setup would be best but hard to find, with a aftermarket filter setup Im sure the complete setup would see some kind of gain

I have a VTR inlet manifold and TB fitted to my 1.4 furio i guess its the same sort of standard to the european 1.4 vts.

The only thing you need to check is that you get the right port spacing as they differ between between mk1 and mk2's

oh and they are a direct fit

yes I think the european 1.4 vts is almost the same as the 1.4 furio(but we also have a 1.4 vts furio...) I have a 1.4 vts from 2000 with the cat under the cat and an mk1 oilfilter setup so i gues i'm going to need a mk1 TB(where the inlet is connected with 6 bolts) When you fitted the TB did you notices a better response? any gain?

ohright so its going to be like are westcoast edition, Id say yes i did notice an increase higher up the rev range it seems to pull alot harder but it hasnt been on the rollers again yet so i cant prove that atm but we shall see soon :y:

ok thanks mate, let me know how much the gain is. Going to look for a VTR TB or maby a TB from a 1.3 rallye
