basically my friend has aquired a s reg vtr as a no runner. the car has not been used for a while and has been in the hands of someone who has no idea about cars but pretends he does. so ill start with my findings. it has had a new ignition barrel put in and fuel pump put in. when u turn the key to were the fuel pump usualy primes it doesnt even do anything and the car will just turn over. no fuel is getting through to the pipe which connects to the head theres no pressure bone dry. have tried inertia switch theres no suspect dash lights all the relays under passanger footwell are hanging out but u can here one activiating so guess thats working. dont know were to go next someone give me advice please!!!!:wall:

black relay near the ecu, check that first. Does the ecu light come on?

If its had a new key it will need the ecu unlocking or recoding

could be the fuel pump.

even if it is working as such, it may actually be the filter on the actual pump itself, blocked.

if u dont resolve the problem trying other things. u can buy a pump for 20quid second hand, just to rule it out.

i hope u sort it out ;)

u mean the one under ecu? ye was thinking of getting nother fuel pump will test for power first if theres no power im going to get so angry becuse there to many things it cud be

buying another fuel pump to test? why???? get your meter across the terminals on the pump.. if you dont see 12v its probably not busted, if you do.. take the pump out and try it direct onto the battery, if it doesnt pump its busted, if it does youve got a weak connection somewhere.

Again - is the ecu light on!

right i tested the connecot going to the fuel pump for power and got 5.5 volts so its getting a supply i elso boticed that on the ignition barrel two of the connectors are conected but the other one has had the connectors cut off its the one witht he brown wires dont know what its for. but i decided even though someone changed the fuel pump thats what the prob was so got another one and second turn it didnt prime turned engine over wooo it started. after maybe a min if that the other nit on the left with piped going to it started to leak everywere. why is this ?? if u move it it sort of releases pressure everywere and sprays fuel out. could it need replacing aswell?? i will upload a pic of it
