I have a saxo mk1 vtr with a silvertop engine in it and ive heard that the mk2 saxo vtrs use the silvertop but with a different inlet to gain the extra 8bhp, is this true, if it is is it easy to fit to my silvertop engine in place of the old inlet?
cheers liam

Think its down to the ECU mapping aswell

Im getting my cylinder head ported and polished and high flow valve seats a cam and remap anyway, just wondering if the inlet fits and if it will help get more power!

Valve seats can be a pain to do in those engines. Just for future reference.

the 98bhp inlet wont fit on your engine but the 106 s1 rallye aluminium inlet will and they are much better, specially when remapped

I wont be doing the valve seats, i will just be putting the head back on the block. Cheers Blackie_2k5 i reckon i'm going to do that if i can get hold of one.

And how come the 98bhp inlet wont fit, i thought they were the same engine? Is it to do with mine being a single plug ecu and the 98bhp being a multiplug?

The heads of the mk1 and mk2 engines are different, The Mk2 inlet won't fit on a mk1 as it's a different shape...

The mk1 106 rallye inlet will however fit on a mk1 and is a much better upgrade
