as the temptation of the vts was too great i decided to look about and eventually bought this on wedneday night! havent been able to drive it yet as im still insured on the vtr but that should be sorted by the end of the month. the quality of photos arent very good but its the only cam i could get hold of! a better cam is needed as i dont think to does this car justice lol Id like to hear yours (the sax-p faithful's! smileys/smiley14.gif ) opinions and ideas of future mods etc, maybe help me decide on a few things smileys/smiley17.gif

Mint mate, engine mods ahoy smileys/smiley20.gif

Id get rid of the 16v badges (and fuel cap), and make everyone guess a bit smileys/smiley2.gif

Maybe some smoked rear clusters and repeaters?

dsh85
11th December 2005, 00:01
thanks bud! i defiently want to make the engine bay smarter that will be definately in my plans and was also thinking about the smoked rear to go with the headlights and tints! delocking was also another thing on my mind!

tgazvtr
11th December 2005, 00:04
mmmm i like that, i bet that hurt dodson to part with it.

Dodson
11th December 2005, 15:22
Yeh it hurt parting with it but my new Leon Cupra and baby girl eased the pain a little.... smileys/smiley17.gif smileys/smiley17.gif smileys/smiley4.gif

Yates
11th December 2005, 19:33
as joe says basically

smoked fogs as well, and if you can get standard black and silver mirrors instead of fully colour coded then it will add a lil more black to the silver and black look...thats if your going for it

it is smart tho

shauns_saxovts
11th December 2005, 21:47
looks like same wheels as mine

dsh85
11th December 2005, 23:05
im not too sure if im goin for the total silver/black theme it has a lot towards it but a bit undecided at the mo! yeh sean they are the same as urs!!

Yates
11th December 2005, 23:10
what are you doing with the old wheels??

dsh85
11th December 2005, 23:20
just keeping them as spare mate in case i need them there not in too good condition with damage to the paint on most! if i didnt already have the 16's i would have had them refurbed tho! have you had your fogs tinted matt?

Sean
11th December 2005, 23:22
looks good mate. i'd keep the vts rims and paint them dark grey smileys/smiley2.gif

dsh85
11th December 2005, 23:35
i would have been tempted shaun but i already had these smileys/smiley17.gif maybe i could go for an anthracite change on these one day smileys/smiley4.gif

Looks awesome dan, how much did it set you back?

Get the pics up with the wheels on.

Id go for smoked rears, put the standard fuel cap back on too.

dsh85
12th December 2005, 21:36
cost the best part of £3600 of which i blame you dan, nax and his bro for making me have to go out and get one lol i aint got the standard petrol cap with it so dunno how that would be sorted altho i dont mind the aluminum one with silver paint

Yates
12th December 2005, 21:37

12th December 2005, 21:38

Sean
14th December 2005, 00:25
don't get me wrong mate, they look good, but i've got a thing atm for vts wheels (no gay comments please) and the only wheels i REALLY like in 16's are oz superlegs/super-t's and speedlines. so sell the 16's and powdercoat the s rims anthracite, because you know you want to really smileys/smiley2.gif smileys/smiley17.gif

wideboy
14th December 2005, 00:30
Looks like it sits very nicely Dan mate!!

But you know you need to get those bad boys painted...or get some lightweight mofo's smileys/smiley2.gif

Roll on the new year

dsh85
14th December 2005, 00:33
ohhh it does sit nicely plus that was 0n a slight slope with handbrake on so should be a bit lower over the rim smileys/smiley14.gif i tried my best sean but i guess i cant tempt you from your vts rim fetish smileys/smiley17.gif

and yes roll on new year when it comes out the garage smileys/smiley4.gif

Dan
14th December 2005, 00:40

Looking good dan, you'll have to pop over an show me lol

Smoked rears would be cool, fuel cap needs changing to standard. What are these other rears you've seen????

You'll get no rubbing on 195/40/16's even with a 60mm drop and a full car. smileys/smiley2.gif

dsh85
13th January 2006, 08:21
Could you plz tell me

smileys/smiley4.gif

1. 60mm all round on spax psx kit
2.16's with 195/40/16 tyres
3. www.topgear.co.uk

14th January 2006, 00:34
thanks chris and sean.

nax its like shit off a stick smileys/smiley17.gif defiently notice the diffrence although the adjustable spax suspension is set to hard so it can make it a bit of a bumpy/sickly ride sometimes

Gav
14th January 2006, 01:47
in your pic in the signature the colour of the car looks diforent but cool. wonder what colour it is. its like a goldy silvery colour. have seen it before on another car like a volvo or mirc.

Aled
14th January 2006, 03:46
I'm likinig that alot smileys/happy.gif whats the ride like on the Spax PSX kit?

dsh85
14th January 2006, 04:16
its not bad mate but like i said its set on hard at the moment and bumpy roads can make you feel a bit sick smileys/smiley11.gif ill get round too changing it one day smileys/smiley17.gif

Aled
14th January 2006, 04:28
haha shows that i can read smileys/smiley5.gif lol smoke tails and side repeaters smileys/smiley4.gif woop and some 1.1 badges

dsh85
14th January 2006, 04:36
yeh the 1.1 badges are defiently a must have smileys/smiley17.gif i still cant make my mind up over the smoked lights i think the clear side repeaters blend in with the colour coding

Dan
14th January 2006, 05:05
I think the smoked repeaters would look nice especially with smoked rears too. smileys/smiley2.gif

Its just quartz silver aint it Dan the colour of the car?

addictedtosax
14th January 2006, 05:28
this might sound a bit strange but imo it would look nicer if it werent colour coded, would work a treat with the smoked headlamps and the tints. The silver and black theme is very nice smileys/smiley16.gif smileys/smiley2.gif

boz
14th January 2006, 06:24
i would stick with the standard mk2 rear lights mate, suit the colour smileys/smiley2.gif

dsh85
14th January 2006, 16:58

nice i enqired about mine at my local body shop and he came up with these prices.

they include paint and labour

bonnet ( stone chips over at as some nob did a donut in this gravel car park and flicked stones up at 6 cars i was one of them) £135
front bumper (as above and splitter painting) £65
rear bumper (2 deep scratches in it) £65
door (some one egged it and chipped paint off) £95
arch (came off on m6 and scratched 2 fuc) £35

are they good prices ds8h in comparasion

Yeh, i meant assuming u delocked the boot aswell. would it be possible to break in2 ur bonnet to swap the batteries?

Dan - prices dont seem too bad, labour will be cheaper if your getting them all done together

Yates

i would of de locked the boot

but looks good

shame its slow

gettin boot lock done looks good but you cant weld the hole up as the bits plastic and welding would melt it

if i had a choice i wouldnt get my boot lock done again, plus if battery goes u have no way of getting in to car, unless u carry a battery around with u for the fob at all times

m20pub
14th September 2006, 14:42

ppl who do that would usual have a buttom some were hidden on the car or under ect that would relese a door or bonnet ect
