been quoted £290 by a very respectable local garage in my area
is this a lot?
ive had work done by the garage before, and got a mate who works at the garage next door (and knows them quite well) so got confidence in it being a great job
just seems a lot for a cam belt change imo?
EDIT: thread extension, how much did you pay?
16v btw

way way over the top.
the vts engine is a piece of cake to do the cambelt on, doesnt take long at all.

well a cambelt kit is £80.
then maybe 70 quid labour roughly?

well when there doing the cambelt, a water pump will just be the price of the part and maybe an extra tenner to fit it.

Can't blame you on not going to a cheapo garage tbh, worth paying that bit extra to make sure the job gets done right imo. :p
