s1 inlet and tb on boosted conversion

as above, any of the 8v boosted lads use these? i currently have 1 on for my cams, just wondering what like turbo'd up? or if its best to go back to stock? can imagine an alloy inlet would be much better but what do people say?

just a trhought really as they have alot of breathing pipe bosses already on them unused which id need to better block for the pressure :) i think they look the nuts compared to a stock bay, cars going white for the conversion so i may get alot of the engine part high temp powder coated white? inlet maybe one???

get yourself over onto saxosportsclub and search a lad called lex

he ran a t2 turbo on furio bottom with s1 rallye top end so obviously used that filter, and he made 150bhp atw with low boost on standard internals

i know him very well as i worked with him, and ive seen his car in action, well when it worked lol and fooook me it was quick, i actually thought id left the hand break on at one point lol haha slight exajuration (god knows how you spell that word lol) there but was still very quick and hes a very knowledgable lad, hes helped me with a lot of things, so find him and drop him a pm mate

The rally inlet will only fit the blacktop vtr engine's as the port spacings are different on the silvertop, will give a very minimal power increase, however they are viewed as much more reliable than the plastic standard inlets due to them failing under boost. (however, i havent heard of this happening much at all)

in my opinion a very worthwhile mod, if it fits even with low boost and standard internals

blackie_2k5 has already got a s1 inlet fitted to his lump as hes running ph3's i think so fitting is not a prob for him lol oh and on that subject blackie have you had your car mapped yet on that set up? im still curious as to your figures lol or if not you had your car on rollers with the inlet and ph3 cam?

but i had never heard anything about the plastic inlets failing before, ive read alittle on boost and not seen anything like that

but if you are to see big gains on a standard lump without boost etc, then surely it would see better gains with boost as more air is being forced in at a greater rate, so due to it being bigger its able to allow more air in right?

correct i already hav it fitted with my ph3's, not mapped yet mate thats why im going predator for the turbo conv, was jus going to use mf2 and fifth injector but for what ill ay for both standalone seem the blatant choice

erm to be honest i dont quite know, well saying that neither does hehe things it could have been to do with the turbo, but also he mentioned something about something coming loose with the bottom end and getting lodge between a piston aand head i think it was not 100% on that though, i have slept since then haha

erm but hes fed up of the probs with it now so hes getting rid of the boost and going 16v with cams for now then eventually bodies i think, erm cause i was debating on the turbo setup off him but cant afford it atm
