View Full Version : BMC with standard breather pipe?
As in title can a BMC for a MK2 VTR be connected up without an aftermarket breather filter on the end?
Any pics or comments would be helpful

Im not 100% sure they do fit mate but your aware that if they do the standard pipe is very restrictive arnt you? there for eliminating the need for a performance air filter (to increase airflow)
:y:
So I would be better to fit the BMC and then use a small breather filter to cover the hole on the rocker cover?

do they not just use a 90 degree rubber hose? im sure you could run a small hose from the rocker and pop a small hole in the bmc hose?

Sorry i misread! ignore previous post i thought you wanted to connect the bmc cda to the standard air system in place but yes your right a breather filter on the rocker or even better an oil catch tank would prob be the best bet :y:
oil catch tank - sorry for my lack knowledge how difficult to fit?
i wont be putting a breather on my vts engine, the one on my vtr just spits oil everywhere. us a catch tank if you dont plumb a hose back in
how much are catch tanks?
also fitting easy?
cheap on ebay, i dont think there is much to fitting apart from run a hose from the rocker to the tank? never done it so cant be sure

Oil catch tanks are easy mate its 1 pipe from the rocker cover into a tank!, you dont have to buy one you could make one if you want to do it on the cheap, use a relentless can or similar? plenty of people have done it :y:
