i'll be srvicing regularly so will probably only be in a couple of thousand miles

It will be fine.

All brands have to meet certian specifications so it isnt going to be sub standard or cause any problems.
And 10w40 semi syn is what citroen specify anyway :y:

it just seems very cheap... seein as im buying a clutch, oil filter, spark plugs and gearbox oil from them it would be easy just to get engine oil from them too, but thats all they sell

Imo if youre on a budget then as long as it is the correct grade it shouldnt matter what brand.

Admittedly more expensive oils may well perform better under extreme operating conditions, but as you said youre only going to do a few K on it it will be fine.

its not bein tracked for a while and i'll rarely use it for more than 15 miles a day
