may not be the right place for this, i ve had a search and basicly is thier any books available that have a guide to rebuilding a vts engine/ a 4 pot n/a engine i ve had a look on amazon and haven't realy found much

a haynes manual might help but im not that sure really

Haynes manual has it all. It doesnt cover piston ring end gaps, but a dealership will be able to tell you this.
