Does it really make a difference?

I bought some from GMC a while ago and that was bloody awesome. Could hold the mani after a thrash and not burn your hand. £50+ though..

My brother has some ebay special stuff and i dont know if its just me but it doesnt seem to hold heat in at all.

Looking for a quality wrap for a good price. Any recomendations?

I used Thermo-Tec wrap. Pretty good imo, like you said can touch the manifold without getting burnt. Was £40 for 50 foot x 2".

Latest spec thermo tec copper is the bomb!
By far the best on market but isnt cheap.
You do get what you pay for!

I would just buy the cheapest if it was me, the difference is going to be minimal anyway.

Wrong!
As others have said with thermo tec you can touch a manifold even after a very spirited drive!
Hence why so many kit car users wrap there headers in it!
If they dont or they use cheap stuff the fiberglass panels in proximity melt!
They are not all the same!
