Hi, I recently purchased a 97 1.1 sx with a 99 VTR engine slammed in. The car was running fine until one day it started missfiring at speeds above 80 - 90. Also in the morning when it was cold it would have a job just ticking over !! A mechanic sugested the coil pack, so I got one from the breakers yard, this sorted the problem of morning starts a treat !!! However, now at spreeds above 90Mpg at revs between 3000 - 4000 the revs just die and the car totally looses all engine power (does not cut out, just no power), once I slow down a little power returns ?!?! What could be causing this ? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

I'd guess on fuel starvation. Maybe a blocked fuel filter?

A little bit of an old Thread but i'm a newbie so be nice smileys/smiley11.gif

Just had this problem with my Saxo VTR, firstly thought Electrical, then maybe fuel tank vacuuming....

Ends up being the fuel pump leaning off after 3-4000 revs....

As u all probably know, easy to change, just bloody expensive as they're the fuel gauge also smileys/smiley7.gif

Hi, I found that it only happened when I was driving with low fuel in the tank. Once I filled her up the problem vanished.
