hi guys i wanna mod the engine in me westcoas, i was thinking of things like-
newman, piper, kent fast road cam
recon head or head off a different car (?)
4-2-1 manifold
decat
remap??
maybe a different gearbox (CAR??)
race clutch
if theres anything else then let me know, what would be the rough output of power do you think? cheers Lee
cam and map and a manifold will cost more than a vts engine tbh, i'd just do a conversion or sell the westcoast for a vts

you could get the gearbox from many cars eg vtr vts xsi etc and id say 15-20 bhp increase but if your doing all that make sure you upgrade suspension etc no point in going fast on straights but slow through corners :)

i would love a VTS but as im only 18 and have only had me licence just under a year, no insurance companies will insure me for a VTS :wall:
More than likely they will not insure all the engine mods then....
If they do you will be paying a lot I recon...
tbh i wouldnt declare a cam or map, insurers dont go to those lengths when inspecting a car

Theyre not gonna insure you on modications like fast road cams then.
On my westcoast ive got ; 4-2-1 manifold, straight through ss race pipe, scorpion backbox and forced induction kit. Id say mine keeps up okay with VTRs, but thats as far as its gonna go without spending big money.
Save for a VTS.
