Ive been looking at the turbo conversions on the dp engineering site but all the prices are in euros. Is there no where that does it in english pounds? Or any other places that import them or something? It seems quite a good price like $500 for a turbo mani. Whats that in £? Im interested but also looking at bodie setup as would be alot cheaper? But not sure which yet.

Been looking at this setup. Would just need a intercooler really. What else will need for this??

check the exchange rate and work it out from there? ive yet to decide between a turbo or bodies, but think im being swayed by the noise of the tb's! check out gmc for a tb inlet for the 16v

Well theres a guy on ebay that does the inlets for about £230.

Works out at £1,614.78. Seems quite good tbh and alot better than the citunig.??

you'd need to take into account engine management (maybe £600) plus then a loom (maybe £200) then mapping (maybe £400-£500).

Then would need better brakes, stronger clutch and maybe LSD (£1k fitted).

Then bigger injectors (£200), a larger bore exhaust system (£400?)

Hardner engine mounts (£150)

Maybe larger capacity fuel pump (£200?).

Then would need to lower the compression ideally, so thicker headgasket (£100) or low comp pistons (£600 + hone)

The thing is it soon all adds up. I would budget around £4k for a reliable low boost set-up.

So ideally bodies would be alot cheaper and reliable setup which i knew id be looking at a fair few k to get a turbo setup. How come mapping is so expensive? 1.8t 20v engines can get the ecu sent off at a map for £150 and up the power from 150 to 200 as my mates looking at getting it done.

As your turbo set-up with your engine would be completely different to anyone else - as a result the mappers would need to 'create' the right map whilst having the car on the dyno.

It's not a generic map - its a standalone ECU.
