Might sound steriotypical here, but is there much point on a 1.1? 8V supersprint if you are going to get one anyway.

A 1.1 isnt really the car to do it with, i would wait until you could get AT LEAST a 1.4

A 1.1 can be competative, with a good suspension setup and maybe a turbo to get it around VTR power, but worth it? Not imo

i agree matey, with a 1.1 thers not too much point. if i were u id thnk bout a vtr/vts engine conversion...just because thers no power withn a 1.1 lol...but if u do wana do it kmc racing do a good mani...although the amount of money u will spend on mods might as well get a vtr/vts!! try a decat pipe, enclosed induction etc!!

There are various track events with cars of small engine size EG under 1300cc races.

The Saxo 1.1 would be a VERY good car to use in this, because It can be set up to handle just as well as any VTS, and for a 1.1, actually has quite respectable performance.

If your considering a track car, I'd focus on getting the brakes, suspension, and stripping etc done FIRST and the car will handle really well, and then when you decide you want more power, it is the perfect track car to put a bigger engine in (VTS or VTR engine would be easiest).

ON topic: If you really want to get a manifold, you can't really go wrong with the 8v Janspeed one, you can get it with or without a Sports cat, depending on if you want to say road legal etc, but If I were you, before buying a new Manifold, I'd wait until you you've done the 16v conversion, because let's face it, you know you will now :wink: and the 8v manifolds are different, and quite pricey to have to buy, sell then buy again.

As mentioned, dont worry about power if you're wanting to track it. Just do it anyway! You'll be able to fly round corners without braking whereas "high performance" cars will be slamming the anchors on.

Maybe he doenst want to put a VTR/VTS engine in cause his insurance will be sky high if hes young, like me lol!

PUtting a VTR Engine in won't make a huge deal of difference to Insurance If you use the right companies. The VTR is only Insurance group 7 anyway. I got quoted £550 on a 1.1 with the 1.1 engine or £666 for a 1.1 with an VTR engine or about £950 with a VTS engine, and that's at 19 with 2 years NCB.
