my car has a 285 cam in it an my emissions are miles out. if a swapped the head over to one with a standard cam would this lower the emissions much?

has the car been remapped? If so then no it could potentially be worse as the fueling would be out. Has teh car got a cat?

Take it out for a good blast before hand and use a higher octane fuel, get it super warm and have it emissions tested immediately. My vtr passed two seperate emissions test without the cat on but it was standard engine wise

i it's been remapped but it's not allowed on the road cause of a prohibition order an a get watched all the time when am out an about smileys/smiley7.gif would it be hard to unwire the dastek?. someone said a should fit a top end with a carb on it would any fit straight on? a would prefer an easier way out than this tho.

carb would probably be worse to as it can only be fuelled at its optimum at one point.

The dastek can be wired out easily without having to rip it out or anything by bridging.

swapping heads would be a long way for a short cut to.

Has it got cat? You could get a cat from a larger car anad have a custom exhaust place welded some ends on it and fit it in place for mot and swap back out later?

does anyone no how much a green cotton air filter would effect this? might go for that bigger cat idea.
