Can you let us know what you've done for the conversion, what you've done so far, parts you already bought etc, we'll be able to help more then

What have you actually got already?
And i see pistons and rods, do you mean forged pistons? So your arnt running low boost then i take it?

well at the moment. the cars running
its not bad at all to be honest.
its running on standard managment , with a turbo doc piggy back 5th injector job.
and it runs 0.6 bar at the moment on standard internals and everything
.
i want to run it at a 1.0 bar safely.
and want to get rid of the 5th injector as i havent heared a good word about it.
so what injectors and managment?. and where can i get forgedpistons and rods?

hmm you could use a de-compression plate which has been known to push 1bar but that's still risking it, getting forged 8v pistons cant seem to spot them from the usual spots.
5th injector increases the fuel rate to cool the pistons so it's not a bad idea but does help.
Injectors can depend on what hp mark your heading for.
There's some useful sections in the FAQ regarding turbo set ups. Definitely worth a read.

1. Depends on what bhp figure your aiming for, if you want to ditch your 5th
injetcor setup and go for a group of 4 uprated injectors the qep are the
guys to call, you tell them what power your going for and they'll sort you
out!
2. Management - Dont know if you've read through the datashift predator ecu
thread, but if your ditching your 5th injector setup then you'll have to go
standalone, speak to andy aka luthor, dont think the predator has run
a boosted tu setup yet, but seems more than capable!
3. Clutch - again it depends on bhp, a valeo one may be sufficient, but if
going for more power you'll need to think of going to organic/paddle clutch
plates - eg helix etc
4. Fuel pump, a walboro 255/265 depending on bhp aim, and regulator, it
depends on if you have a mk1 or mk2 vtr as the fpr is located in different
if mk2 like mine, its located in the same place pretty much as the standard
fuel pump, so im ditching the standard fuel tank and having an afetrmarket
one in the rear of the car, you can then run an adjustable weber one under
the bonnet
5. forged pistons and rods, these are not really a must, depending on what
bhp your going for, how often you drive the car, daily drive or track.
If you are wanting forged pistons and rods then john at gmc is the one to
call, thats where i got my wossner low comps from
edit: - also the 2 bar map sensor, this is sorted out by using standalone management, but as i said give andy a pm!
hope this helps :y:

cracking help mate.
for the info, whats this qep place mate?
as for bhp frigures.
i would like to find about 180-200 maybe
hopefully forged isnt a must, i really dont fancy spending that much .
so predator ecu,440cc injectors?,walbro pump and fuel reg. maybe 4.5bar?
and a decompression plate ?
if that sounds good?

QEP website link mate - http://www.q-e-p.co.uk/ , give them a call, but if your only aiming for 200 max, you wont need 440cc's you'll probably need more around 330, these will be cheaper ;)
i'd go for decomp plate on that setup, with the predator also it should run pretty well,
what size turbo you using? t2?
and what manifold?
scott-richards
19th June 2009, 15:28
yeah im using a t2 mate. may upgrade in time.
well its a standard manifold cut and welded to fit my turbo. its not bad at al really.
so 330 injectors and a decomp plate is good enough?
wouldnt mind a dp engineering manifold. the tublar one. their sexual as hell lol
il ring q.e.p monday morning now. where can i get predator ecu mate?
Mathias
19th June 2009, 19:36
Here is the thread for the predaotr mate http://www.saxperience.com/forum/showthread.php?t=184428
you'll have to pm andy about cost etc, i dont think there is a vtr 3 plug ecu yet so you may have to wait if you have one of these
regarding injectors 330 should be fine, but you'll have to confirm with qep!
and the dp manifolds are awsome, thats what im using, you should have a look at my progress thread may help you!
scott-richards
19th June 2009, 20:39
for some reason i think ive looked and my vtr is single plug??
im sure as hell it is.
does anyinew do 3 plug ecus then?
Mathias
19th June 2009, 21:26
Think there is a 1 plug ecu for your car!! :)
but you'll need to pm andy.
Ummm..... as the predator doesn't come in 3 plug i'll have to go elsewhere, im going to jamsport to have custom loom and ecu fabricated
