my battery light is stuck - staying on all the time it happend when i started it up last night on way back from work has any one got any ideas ......

could it be me putting new speakers in .. not a vary good job really e.g 6x9s conected on to other speakers a bit of a bodge job till i get an amp

Knackered alternator
Fan belt broken

If the fan belt is still working, take it to a garage to check the voltage while running. Should be 13-15v. Anything less will cause the light to come on.

It can overcharge aswell as undercharge, both but make the light come on. I have the same ploblem, mines overcharging so it still works so I havnt got round to changing it, woops

Dont take it to a garage, buy a multimeter to check the voltage wh..........

cheers all it was the aulternater belt that snaped off went to halfords and got 1 was gonna go to garage nd get it done but did it my self JOB DONE :y:

So the belt was broken - that's good new as you fixed it for cheap!

However, why would you buy a multimeter when every quick fit, autosave, halfords will check it for free?

ye i ad same prob on me old pug 106 and jus wakked a new belt on the alternator, was well pleased with meself haha..
