Probably. Was it unlocked? You used ignition barrel, transponder and imobilisor ECU from the VTS car?

sounds like ECU is locked as said in the other thread. Get it unlocked - or could be an earth problem

Maybe you have locked it when trying to start it - you remove the immobiliser box from under the dash? As an unlocked ECU won't work with the box xtill plugged in, unless its the matching box for the ECU.

johnlambert
1st July 2009, 18:20
yeah i just read up on that. i didnt do that personally!!
is there anyway round it if this happened???
other than sending the ecu off?

raunchz
1st July 2009, 18:22
maYbe unplug the box and see it it'll start.

Mochachino
1st July 2009, 18:22
Nope, you have to get it unlocked again. Its a imobilisor problem, so it will be this.

Is the engine getting fuel? Do them wires go to the fuel cut off switch? If there isnt a plug connected to the fuel cut off and there free, would be my guess. does the fuel pump prime then u turn the key?

ryanmt

They all goto live, it should start with those connected. If not i can unlock the ecu for you.

I had thit problem when i rebuilt my vtr engine, it turned out to just be an earth that i had forgot to tighten, so check loom for unearthed earths.

Olly
1st July 2009, 22:38
Check youve plugged the fuel cut off in then. Have yo checked the fuel pump fuse? IIRC the wires to it are yellow and green (or bluey)

It is that simple, chop those plugs off and connect em to the battery... it should fire straight up.

mine was fuelling into the injectors, but not firing out of them, ask him if he's checking the actual injectors or the delivery tube into the injectors....

Can check the ecu by putting it on another vts, (remember to remove the immobiliser box under the dash though, else it deffo will get locked.)

its got grooves in it, its a sagem SL96 ecu probably. Theyre crap and were fitted to the 306's and things like that but never the 1.6 16v.

It should look like this and have the following code on it 1ap.41
