you might have filled it with to much oil hence the blue smoke from the rear

Whats the milage on it? my guess if u only get it on start up would be valve stem oil seals. when the piston is on suction it can draw some oil into the cylinder when the car sits for a while. not a huge job and most places will be able to do it without removing the head.

just read ur post again could be piston rings too. start the car and remove the oil cap and put ur hand over the opening too seal it.If u can feel pressure it could be blowby from the rings pressurizing the bottom end. This could be the cause of the leaks too....hope its not rings though. smileys/smiley2.gif

check your oil first, if thats fine then clean the engine and look for leaks, if none then do a compression test and go from there but blue smoke is burning oil

cheers guys, cleaned the engine and the oil is just coming from round the cap and a tiny bit from the rocker gasget.
so do you think i may need a new or a extra strong oil cap?
