owned my VTR a few days now, when i took it on a test drive the car itself was amazing with no problems

now i have been able to put the engine to the test i noticed a few little issues..

1: im getting little jerkes every no and then, when hard driving i dont get them at all, but for exaple im in 4th and drop below 30, before changing the car gerks randomly.

2: should i be able to hear the gear linkage so loudly? lol..
i know on some cars this is common

Thanks guys :)

Drop below 30 in 4th, sounds like you just need to either press the clutch or preferably change down to 3rd/2nd.

Gear linkages aren't normally noisy but you can hear them with the engine off if you change gear

lol i crashed my vtr and i had little problems with it but in genral it was a good car.
all my mates have corsa's so fort ill have one as they must be good as some of them swear by them.
1st day engine light come on
2nd day garage said bit of metal out the engine are blocking the egr vavle so had new one
3rd day new egr valve gets clogged with bits of metal out the engine again.
4th day get the egr valve blocked off so crnt break again so now whenever i give it some the light comes on slowing the car down.

now noticed a full tank of petrol will only do me 150miles of slow driving.
4 garages have said to figure it out they need the inlet and exahust manifolds off to see where the bits of metal coming from and might cost more than the cars worth to fix but as ive just lost my job i crnt afford to get rid either lol

so cheer up mate cud be worse. i think the saxo was a very very good car and i had nowhere near as much trouble with it as this stupid corsa.

give her a nice service and check the tappets are all adjusted corecty also might be worth checking your timming is correct as i did a service then had the tappets and timming belt done at same time and one of the 3 sorted it lol. good luck mate

hey sorry to hear about your problems

yeah shes a beauty, the wierd this is i have just downgraded from a clio 1.2 which had assised braking ABS all the works of a new car.. but still it dosent compare to how light and raw the saxo is... where as the clio just used to glide.. you can really feel the road in the VTR

and for a smaller sized 1.6 the engine has soo much punch in it..

i think ill spend a few hours in the engine bay 2morow, and give her the good old once over :)
