I have a got a couple of questions regarding engine compatibility with different models of Saxos
I have a silver top VTR engine from a 2000 W reg VTR. I am guessing it will drop straight into a Mk1 AND Mk2 VTR? Will it drop into a Furio without any issues or will i need to make any adjustments / modifications?
Cheers

general rule of thumb says any engine will fit any saxo providing
the loom and ecu is from the same year
all silvertop vtrs are interchangeable on the same ecu/loom except the 98bhp vtr

OK, cheers for the info, i understand the first bit, but the last line confused me! When you say 'all silvertop VTRs' do you mean regardless of the year, or regardless of their variant?
So if i got a 2000 W reg Furio, the VTR engine would drop straight in without changing the loom?
Also, how do i tell what variant of the silvertop i have?

if you have a single plug ecu and a cat under the car it's an early furio(2000), if you got a 3 plug ecu and a cat in the mani you have a late furio(2001 - 2003)

and what difference would that make on whether a W Reg 2000 VTR silvertop engine would go in a furio? Will it fit in both with no problems?

if you have an one plug ecu in your furio it's easier to fit a one plug silvertop vtr engine(90bhp)

Ok, right got another question.... How much work would be involved in fitting the engine into an R reg 1.1 106?
