Believe me I hate pointless threads but I cannot find my answer for this one:
Does the 206 gti180 engine fit a mk2 saxo engine bay?
Obviously the normal 206's use TU engines anyway so is there all that much difference the only thing i can see is that the inlet mani and throttle body are at the front of the engine bay so a few bits might need moving.

would be a lot of work wiring wise - as each 'electircal box' in the 106 gti 180 needs to talk to each other or else it wouldn't work (even interior boxes) so would need to run it on standalone.
Would be a lot of work but doable - some 205's with them in are rapid !!

i imagine you could do some kind of fabrication with 206 mounts and stuff, is the 206 engine bay not a bit bigger?

so mechanicly speaking it would work?
I would run a stand alone anyway, what boxes do they use i just have a mate who is breaking one

ok right let me just make sure im correct, fitting it wont be a problem? I have done conversions on many cars before so im confident on that side, its just the electrics then i take it?

the mounts i think are different in them
so it might not be straight forward
and then its what gearbox its running and what shafts to run ect
conversions from other cars are never straight forward

The 206 GTI 2ltr engines are not TU, they are EW engines (a decendant of the XU family as fitted to 1.6 & 1.9 205 gti). So not an easy fit.

No i knew they wernt TU but I was just wondering about size as the normal engines in the 206 are TU engines, is the EW engine in the 206GTI 180 much bigger than a TU engine?

Yes, its bigger, different mounts & BE gearbox where a TU uses a MA gearbox.

Hmmm im buying another car soon so I want to something mad to mine but this just doesnt seem worth the hassle i think im going to put my b16 civic engine into it instead i know it will be costly but worth the extra money over the gti180 engine imo
