Would a vts box fit onto a 406 sri turbo engine?

Has a 406 turb lump been fitted before??

anything could be done mate, but it would'nt be worth putting the vts box on, the 406 lump would tear it a new one.

This question again?

The 406 SRi engine is an uber tight fit in a 306 - seen it done in a 306 cab before. Pretty sure it just wouldn't fit in the front of a saxo with eth chassis legs and front suspension in place.

Why would you want to use a VTS box with it?

I seem to have moments of madness and crazy ideas.

Wake up one morning and think I want my car to go abit faster :p Again.lol

After having a think about it im just gonna look for a vts lump and strip it then get the engine mods sorted i.e port&polish, lightened and balanced flywheel, flowed tb, 3 angle cut valves. As i know a man that will do it a a good price. Then maybe bore it out abit and bigger valves.

Was even thinkin about the tb's route, then your looking for engine managment and a set of tb(maybe off a bike)

bore it... walls are thin enough, can have probs with warping if to thin

why not save teh effort of all that and strap a super charger to it...

Mass cost. Thats why I dont wanna go down the supercharger route

Boring out the engine 'out the window'

It wouldn't fit without major surgery, and it'd be fairly pointless as it's a shite engine.

All this isnt cheap!

i guess you need to stick to a plan of action when you have decided what you want and what you can budget for... how much do you want to spend and we can advise better?

How are you figuring out it is a shite engine, It is if you dont do research on it, cam, 1.9 gti inlet and boost adjusted see`s it with over 220bhp from under £100. Or you can get gti6 head and put it on bottom end and can see upto over 350bhp. Its like saying the vts engine is shite to tune when you havent looked at its potential..

It's restrictive, the valve surface area is tiny, it's souless, it's heavy for its output...I can go on. Granted some DIY mods make a big difference, but thats true of most engines.

You can put a GTi-6 head on and see over 350bhp yes. But firstly, it's then a different engine really (morelike a T16) and secondly that would involve custom manifolds, uprated internals....you'd be spending major money. Then theres the gearbox...the only box man enough to take all the abuse is the ML5T and that's massive and weighs as much as a church (not to mention it's geared mainly for diesels). You could spend plenty on an uprated BE, but that'd be a tight fit in a 106/Saxo and they're still not all that great. It'd melt an MA box within 3 miles too!

You could spend less blowing a VTS lump and at least that way it'll bolt straight in and won't plough straight on in bends.

I'm guessing by your senstive reaction you own one of these engines? I'm not here to knock anyones pride and joy bud....I used to have an Activa running 207bhp (on the rollers). I've owned plenty of other PSA motors too, and IMO that engine is not their best. :p

And then theres the economy! Even in standard form it's truly horrific.
