View Full Version : Help!!!! - Standard vts oil cooler

Once you have removed the standard oil cooler from the 16v block, like so:

how do you remove the threaded insert that it sits on from the block? I need to remove it to swap onto my other block, but there are no bolts or anything holding it in, and I don't want to break the threads by using grips.
This is the bit I mean:

Or can you buy a replacement part from Citroen? If it is only a couple of quid I'd rather just do that rather than messing with mine?

wind 2 nuts on and lock em together to get em out. Iirc though that bits the same on all blocks

i just grabbed it with grips andy

did the trick and didnt cause huge damage (i can still thread my sandwich plate on)

Cheers guys. I'll give both options a whirl.

The insert is missing on my new block, hense needing to swap over from the old one :y:

Wrap some masking tape round the end before you use the grips, shouldnt damage the threads then.

if your fitting the cooler you dont need the insert in the new block

the bit that goes through the cooler has the thread on the end
