Do you drive at full chat for long periods eg track days?
If the answer is yes then itll help a lot. Just for traffic light gran prix no.

if you get one get a thermostatic sandwich plate
it will stop the oil flowing through it when the oils not warm and then when it gets to temp (iirc 89degrees) it opens and lets the oil cool to below then shuts again
stops overcooling (which i have a feeling i may struggle with as i dont have a thermostat it just constantly cools :( )
other than that there pretty handy if you are on track giving it the beans

i wont be using it for track for a while yet, just want my car to a good spec.
my engines got one of the standard coolers that goes to the top hose, that should do me for road use and one or 2 track sessions next year?
