I've decided to buy newman ph4 for 16v engine but i have some questions?
will they run ok on a single tb ?
what compression ratio do i need ?
and is there anythink specific about them that i need to know?

why you going for ph4s over ph3s?? you planning on having any head work or forged internals boost s/c tbs etc ?

ph4's should only be thought about if you already have throttle bodies. single body just wont supply enough air.
also should only be thought about if the car is used for mainly track/competition use.
i used them for a while.
shit hot on track, shit on the road. car was un-drivable

I would go for some ph3's or 708's if your not running bodies

unless you run itbs you wont get a ph4 to run properly mate
there not for use on the standard inlet system
the ph3 (which i have) are a very good cam for daily use power if you dont mind a little bit of lumpyness on idle
with a good map there very fun lol

I spoke to Newmans about this cam, or should i say Mr Newman.
You can use standard internals unless the heads been skimmed alot then you run the risk of hitting the valves with the piston. You need throttle bodies to use them, running them without throttle bodies would raise the question.. why not PH3's.
So a decent cam for a TB'd car with low budget. A bad cam for a stock engine.
PH3's are spot on.

what other engine mods were done apart from, im guessing tb's, for you to run the PH4's tom?
