View Full Version : Bigger Injectors ?!

Hello guys,

Ive recently cammed my vtr and put the s1 inlet on it also as suggested, The only thing at the moment is its extremely lumpy on the tick over and has a flat spot around 3.5k, Obviously it needs remappying and i understand the tick over is never going to be senisble! Just waiting for him to get back off holiday as i dont know anyone in the southeast near me.

But would bigger injectors help at all, its been suggested to me but im unsure.

Any help appretiated

Id speak to the mapper. I can't see them being at full chat with those mods tbh.

no the injectors you have will be fine, they are able to spray more than enough fuel, obviously the ecu will dictate this to the injectors though.

there are a few places in kent that do remaps so have a search on yell:y:

you can get idle spot on with valve timing if you have the s1, my vtr has ph3 camshaft and s1 and ive got the idle perfect, it actually idles better then originally

Ah Cheers all, Its got Fastroad cams in it. Ill see what can be done about the valve timings after a remap i think!

Not sure but dad reckons 2 of my injectors could have possibly gone wrong because i have 5% emission atm on the tick over un mapped, and when revved up its under the .5% or what ever its suppose to be

hmm well to be honest mate get diagnostics on your car, they can indicate which injectors are working and which are not, will be alot cheaper than replacing with new or bigger injectors, cause i used my dads kit on my car and that indecated two of my rallye injectors were fuccked so put vtrs back on

but tbh with what your doing you shouldnt really need bigger injectors, and it will be lumpy depending on cam timing as blackie said, also did you set up the valve clearences right aswell? cause this can cause it to run shit aswell as cam timing, as my tappets where way off and run shit then did them and it ran 100x better then just teaked cam timing but could still do with a bit more tweaking tbh but ill get that done when i get my bodies and predator fitted and it mapped up
