1.4 engine build to S1400

Im picking up a low mileage 1.4 standard engine next week for a project build while its out of the car... (building the rally car first then dropping the lump in)

What would i be looking at doing to get a good performance for stages out of the 1.4 engine...

been told to rebuild it with VTR engine parts (what ones)

Also any help and advice would be great!

Not exactly positive on what you mean by S1400, are you talking class9 rallying or class 1 sprint perhaps? If you let us know what class your planning on entering we will try and help.

EDIT, forgot to ask what engine is it that you have got to play with?

Defo a sprint rally... was it to be like the S1600 engine but in a 1400 if you get me? Thanks

its a 1.4 8v furio engine...

Sorry so what class are you looking to race in? Every class has there own set of regulation that tend to vary massively. For example a class 1 sprint engine has to use a head originally fitted to the car your racing but you can port it and so on. Other classes you have to have a standard head. Other classes you can use any head you like even if it never came on that car.

Modified head is allowed ive been told today... what cams are in a s1600??
