If you're looking for <50k miles, go for a JP4 engine (from a 207, 307, 206 and Citroen C2). Some dude on Rallye Register sells them for £275 delivered to your door.

Does require a bit of stuff swapping around, but the JP4 has an improved head over the J4 engine from the VTS and most JP4 are under 50k.

thanks mate thats a great help... any ideas just how much tinkering needs doing to the c2 engine to get it in my saxo..?
